A random thought

As you may or not know, November is “No Shave November”. Some guys grow out their beards throughout of the month. So in the spirit of the month, I’ve decided not to shave my legs or armpits! No one will see them since it’s so cold!!

Although, I had an interesting thought. Guys usually don’t shave their armpits normally. The bacteria that makes your armpits smell probably would have a hayday with all that hair. So if guys didn’t want their armpits to stink, they’d have to clean their armpits really really well… But do they??

More Mr. Choi-isms…

.

We had an interesting assignment this week in physics..  We were actually reviewing graphing and slope and all such things but you have to love the way we did it.

Mr. Choi told us to bring a barbie doll to school. We were going to tie rubber bands to it and drop from 2 meters with various numbers of rubber bands attached. Why a barbie doll? we asked. He replied, “Because it’s more realistic!”

Barbie went bungee jumping in my physics class… poor Barbie, she got a concussion.. :(

We got to drop her of the second floor railing the next day :)     ..to see if we could measure the right amount of rubber bands needed to “give Barbie the greatest thrill without killing herself”…

By the way, while encouraging us to ask questions in his class, Mr. Choi shared his insight on American marriage.  “That’s why there are so many divorces in America! They don’t ask questions!!  they ask, ‘what kind of carrr do you drive?’  no.. that doesn’t mean Anything!”   (unfortunately part of what makes it funny is the way he says it.. and you just have to hear it to get it)

Oh, Mr. Choi… you’re quite amusing

Mr. Choi-isms

With the new school year, I am taking physics! I was excited to start this class because I’m going to do a lot of physics later on. The teacher of this class is named Mr. Choi. He’s quite an interesting character, so I would like to share with you so of the things he says. We’ll start with toe socks.

Mr. Choi wears toe socks and sandals everyday, no matter what the weather. He says that all the Asian people look alike, but Koreans are still the best looking. (he’s Korean, you see) When people see him they say, “you know, I think I’ve seen you before” Then he says he just lifts his leg up and shows them his toe socks and they remember him.

He had a competition for us on Friday, we had to build the tallest and most stable free-standing structure out of paperclips, tape and straws. The winner got toe socks!! and guess what!!  I WON!!! :D Woohoo!!!

I’ve been wearing my toe socks all weekend :)

next time: why he’s a teacher….

Scavenger Hunt

..

Last year my mom and aunt planned out this great scavenger hunt. We’re going to have another one this summer too! What we had to do last year was go around to houses and ask for different things and bring them back. We also had to take pictures of certain things, perhaps things you couldn’t bring back. We had to video ourselves doing random things like “walk like an Egyptian” as well. There was just a whole slew of things we could do. Each task we accomplished counted for a word.

.

We got all the words when we had finished enough tasks. We then had to decipher a riddle which told us where our treasure was. My mom had gone to the dollar store and just had a ball finding random things to go into the chests. From a barbie doll to chocolate coins to glowsticks to bubbles to silly string. It was a blast. I’m exicted for our next scavnerger hunt this year!

if you are interested in coming let me know
