What did you learn school today? = What did you learn about life this week?

I’ve definately not had the best of weeks… I won’t really go into it, but it was not pleasant at all. (in some aspects)

But in someways I guess I’m thankful for weeks like last week. Which is the reason for my post.

Despite all of the negative feelings I had, I learned some things too.

  • I learned that disappointment is hard, but you just have to deal with it.
  • I learned that walking down a beach with my parents is relaxing.
  • I learned that wanting some space doesn’t necessarily mean wanting time away from someone.
  • I learned that my best friend is human too, and although I had tried to be sensitive, I learned also that I need to be just a little more.
  • I learned that it’s easy for me to talk to people if I let myself.
  • I learned my family can always tell that I’m sad, and always wants to help. I also learned that sometimes it helps to suggest ways they can comfort me or ways to help fix the problem.
  • I learned that sometimes it just feels good to cry. (and that’s okay)
  • I learned that even if there are some problems my friends are there. Even if not physically standing next to me.
  • I learned that Julia has some obsession with Mayan calendars.
  • I learned that John is very understanding and knows not to say what I want to hear, but what I need to hear. (because I really do want to hear what it is that needs to be heard)
  • I learned that cake tops off a good feeling.
  • I learned that I could stay up until 3 in the morning and not feel tired because I was so into the book I was reading.
  • I learned things about relationships from that book.

I don’t enjoy weeks like this themselves, but I love the relaxing, “It’s all good” feeling afterward :)

Just wanted to say…

I just wanted to say, Today’s been a really good day :)

Even though last night I was really disappointed about John saying that he probably won’t come with us to Portland this weekend, Everything seemed better today.

I was able to get a ride to school and not have to wait for the bus in the cold wind. When I got to school John and I were a little early so we talked waiting for other people to show up.

Band was fun even though we didn’t play, the Marine Corps. guy came to talk about the bands in the military. Then we got to watch people “try out” and sightread pretty hard music. It was just fun.

Chemistry was easy because we answered a few questions then watched a movie. It had Bill Nye in it! Although, it wasn’t one of his movies. I like Bill Nye’s bow ties.

Spanish was easy too. I had everything done so I got to do other work (which I Also had done!) so I read my geometry book because I’m interested in this chapter (trigonomic functions)

English was just reading more Romeo and Juliet.

World History I was pretty tired but got my work done.

Geometry was easy and we got our tests back. My teacher has planned out a day for everyone to make up their test because the average score.. was.. not that good. And she said, “I only know of one person that would not really feel like they would need to make it up” I thought that it could be me, and a girl in my class actually assume it was and said, “It’s… that girl!” pointing at me. (apparently I have a repuation for being smart…) When we did finally get our tests back - Ha! It was me! 20.5 out of 21. That’s a 97%. I kept it mostly to myself because I don’t need to rub it in to anyone. Although I never can pass up the opportunity to tell David I beat him. David is a very bright kid, but every test he seeks me out to see what I got and I always have at least a half of a point higher than him. That is my little moment of gloating :

Right after school I went to Driver’s ed, it’s pretty nuetral, interesting but boring at the same time. We learned about the dash board! woo…

Then I got home and went straight to my homework which I was proud of :)

Later I was really happy because John called asking if I wanted to go on a walk with him. Usually I’m the one wanting to go on walks, so him bringing it up made me happy :) We walked around and talked about a lot of random stuff. Then headed up to Briana’s house to say hi. I enjoyed talking to both of them. John makes us both laugh. (he acted as though he was in a Cocoa Cola commerial with his can and was drinking it in the sun, and when I scooted over next to him a bit, he said, “It’s the Cocoa Cola” :) )

Eventually we noticed the sun was setting and we had to go, so we walked back home, John still making me laugh.

Since then I have felt happy and productive. Today has been a Great day :)

Tomorrow I don’t have piano lessons and plan on getting a slurpee with Briana in celebration of her feeling sick for a year (yeah, that sucks - it’s some kind of acid reflex or ulcer thing - they’re not sure) but her party might be a “I haven’t been sick for a week” because she’s felt better this week. Fun! fun! :)

Mood: Happy :)

ACK!!!! She’s Amazing!

On my dad’s blog, there is an interview with Geddy Lee, done by Bob and Tom. In it, they only barely mentioned this girl who played Yyz (a Rush song by Geddy Lee and his “bandmates”… if you call them that). They said that it was really cool, so I decided to google it and see if I could find it. Now I must share it with you.

I believe the instrument she’s playing is called an Electone. it looks very similar to an organ but probably works like a synthesizer. She was about 11 years old when she did Yyz and 9 years old when she did Pirates of the Caribbean

Oh, the Joy of Dancing

John, my new favorite picture of him

John, my new favorite picture of him

Upon sitting around doing nothing but flip through a “parent guide to teen driving” book… I was rather bored. John soon got on to msn and somehow was able to tell that there could be something wrong and asked if I was happy. I love how he does that, even if nothing’s wrong :) He suggested that I turn on some fun music and dance to it so that I wasn’t bored. So, I did :)

It’s fun to dance around your room. Nobody is there, no need to worry about looking like a dork, you can do whatever you want, listen to whatever. Dancing just makes me happy, and so does music, so it all fits together!

Dancing can get you active, relieve stress, be a “special moment” with someone, release energy, make you happy, and just plain be something to do so you’re not bored! :)

Painting!!

Yesterday I did a lot of painting. I helped touched up the room my mom and brother had done the day beforeĀ and started on my room!

Julia came over and helped out. She said that she felt productive, although the fumes were starting to get to her by the time we were about finished. She was kinda loopy.. but she always is a least a little like that. (I still love you Julia)

I have a nice limey color. It’s not too vibrant but it’s still bright enough for me. We actually took it back so that they could mix it together with some other color, because we thought the first one we got was too light. Not very green. I also have a nice light purple, pretty much lavender. Since Julia and I couldn’t reach that close to the ceiling when we were painting (without a ladder) I got the idea to paint the top foot of the wall purple. I think it will look cute.

I’ll have pictures when it’s done :)
