Our first two days

the view of clouds from the plane

Yes, we have made it here to Hawaii – what a lovely place it is. We’ve seen so many waterfalls and everywhere you go it’s so lush and green. There has been off and on rain as characteristic of Kauai, and I love it. They are tropical showers that are so light and refreshing.

We have gone to two beaches, Anini and Haena. I have taken my opportunity to make some sand castles! I enjoy feeling the sand in between my toes and fingers and being able to rise it all off with just wandering into the water.

We also have traveled across the northshore trying to get excellent pictures of the waterfalls we saw cascading down the mountain. As you may have seen on my mother’s blog, this is what we saw most of the day:

Lei making!! As our prize for passing our test we got to make leis. Beautiful purple, white and lavender orchids. Some pretty pink and yellow carnations. All put to together to make our wonderful leis.

hhh

When we went out to dinner everyone was commenting on how nice they looked and how pleasant they smelled.

Today I’m not sure what we plan on doing although it shall be fun. We do so much during the days it seems like it’s been four days and it’s a relief to realize that it’s only been two!

Nice sand castle! Next one you need to add those tall turret type things (the kind you drip wet sand to make) all around it.

Oh, by the way… I’ve noticed that green smudge on your upper left arm in a number of pictures… I think we need a better close up view of any tattoos you’re getting!
